LMC Response to NHSE Face-to-Face Appointment Statement 15.09.20
Now that the initial peak in COVID-19 has settled, general practice is left operating in a completely new landscape, which is likely to exist for at least the next year or so. However, the large majority of work remains the same, which leaves us looking at what our ‘new normal’ will be.
In order to support practices, we have written a paper which sets out to help focus on areas of general practice life that might need consideration for change, either in capacity, provision or implementation.
We recognise that every practice and partnership is unique, so each will have its own specific challenges to overcome. However, we hope that there will be something in here that will resonate with everyone and will help local general practice to move into the future with confidence.
We are looking for dynamic, resourceful, and creative GPs with leadership aspirations who are looking to develop a range of skills working across primary, secondary, and education settings to join us. If you want to develop your clinical, education and leadership potential then we want to hear from you. View here for more information and how to apply.
Last week we circulated a couple of risk assessments that have been developed. This week we received another one, which has been received well by the profession so far and which you may wish to consider using. The tool is named after a GP who died of COVID-19 and was developed by a number of his colleagues and friends.
Following the Government’s enforced restrictions as of 24th March, the LMC Office is now closed. We continue to operate ‘business as usual’ remotely so please contact us in the normal way. All meetings, training and events are now being delivered virtually.:
