Jobs - Salaried GP

The Baldock Surgery

New GP position(s) at The Baldock Surgery, Baldock, Hertfordshire from August / September 2022. Also including a 4 session per week maternity locum for 1 year.

New position(s) have arisen at the Baldock Surgery from changes of commitment of existing Partners and Salaried GPs, including our need for a 4 session per week maternity locum.

We are looking for 8-10 sessions per week, likely split between new GPs working with us with a spread of sessional coverage between individual GPs. We are traditionally a partner majority practice, but are open to considering Partnership options, Salaried GP options, and Salaried GP options with a view to Partnership, or a mix.

In addition, our maternity locum post of 4 sessions per week will start from the 1st September 2022. This is for 1 year and can be incorporated with other sessional posts if desired. There will likely be opportunity for the maternity locum post to continue into a salaried post beyond 1 year. The maternity locum could be provided by one GP also working in other posts in the practice if desired.

The Baldock Surgery is a long established and committed training practice for both GP and GPN training, and beyond this into Additional Roles training. Our training ethos has contributed to significant stability in the practice over many years. We have a strong and cohesive team with a non-hierarchical, progressive approach to our work and development as an organisation.

Our current GP cohort comprises 7 Partners, 6 Salaried GPs and 6 GPSTs. Our excellent team of GPNs now numbers 6, with an excellent spread of Chronic Disease Management skills. We benefit from an excellent Clinical Pharmacist. We work with 5 fellow practices in our PCN (Icknield), based around Baldock, Letchworth and Ashwell. Our PCN is a friendly, cohesive and supportive group, with our Senior Nurse as one of two PCN co-clinical directors.

We benefit from a friendly, stable local population in our market town, with a large surrounding rural patch. Low visiting rate with in-hours visiting cover from our OOH provider, Herts Urgent Care. We are a well-regarded and high performing practice in terms of QOF, CFF, patient satisfaction and other performance indicators.

Please contact our Practice Manager, Punam Kandola, and/or Dr Farrah Somani, Dr Claire Hayward and Dr Bhavik Shah for informal discussions or further information. Interviews planned for August.
