Clinical Governance
Clinical Governance is an over-arching term which encompasses a range of activities aimed at maintaining and improving the quality of the care provided to patients. Numerous activities undertaken within General Practice fall into this area of management within GP partnerships including handling of complaints, safeguarding, significant event analysis and clinical audits.

New NHSE Access Metrics
From 1st April 2026 there are two new metrics NHSE will be measuring as part of their monitoring of general practice access. These metrics are:
- Clinically Urgent Same Day Access
- Non-Clinically Urgent Patients Seen Within 7 and 14 days

Right to Choose Guidance and ADHD/ASD Templates
Following several requests both at LMC meetings and direct from practices, we have produced a guidance document to help practices to navigate the right to choose system. We have also created a set of ADHD/ASD templates for practices to use and adapt as they see fit. Please see the below documents:

Both the management of right to choose generally, and right to choose pathways related to ADHD/ASD, are constantly evolving. We will therefore continue to update these documents as changes take place.
