What are the benefits of Mentoring?

  • Mentor – mentee relationship is relatable as they have experience in a similar professional field
  • Mentors are external and independent from own practice
  • Allows time to reflect and a safe space to share information confidentially
  • Offers opportunities to explore new approaches, tools and techniques
  • Provides support, focus and direction, enabling the mentee to make progress
  • Helps build confidence and motivation
  • Helps identify ways to overcome particular issues
  • Assists with goal setting and helps with professional development planning
  • Provides stability during a time of rapid change and transition
  • Complements and signposts to other areas of support such as coaching, supervision.
