What are the benefits of Mentoring?

  • Mentor – mentee relationship is relatable as they have experience in a similar professional field;
  • Mentors are external and independent from own practice;
  • Allows time to reflect and a safe space to share information confidentially;
  • Offers opportunities to explore new approaches, tools and techniques;
  • Provides support, focus and direction, enabling the mentee to make progress;
  • Helps build confidence and motivation;
  • Helps identify ways to overcome particular issues;
  • Assists with goal setting and helps with professional development planning;
  • Provides stability during a time of rapid change and transition;
  • Complements and signposts to other areas of support such as coaching, supervision.
